Rownhams Manor care home in Southampton welcomed Councillor Ian Jeffrey, Mayor of Test Valley, to celebrate the homes first anniversary, marking a year of care and community spirit.
Since opening its doors in 2024, Rownhams Manor has provided exceptional levels of care to residents and their families and has become a valued part of the local community.
In just 12 months, the home has raised over £2,150 for eight local charities, reflecting a strong commitment to giving back and making a difference beyond its walls.
To celebrate this milestone, the team at Rownhams Manor hosted an anniversary party for residents, staff, families, and friends. The event featured live music, dancing, and a spectacular cake.
89-year-old Shirley Manning, the first resident to move into Rownhams Manor in May 2024, said, ‘I don’t know where I would be if it wasn’t for this care home and all the staff. I have enjoyed being at Rownhams and wouldn’t be without them.’
Another resident, Elva Anderson, reflected on her decision to make Rownhams Manor her home in November 2024, saying,
“I came to stay for a while last year and when I returned home, I missed the staff and other residents and wanted to come back permanently, so I did! I enjoy the activities and the company.”
The Mayor, Councillor Ian Jeffrey, offered glowing praise for the care home: “Thank you for inviting me to visit Rownhams Manor, which was a positive experience in every respect.
“The architects of the building and gardens have thought of everything to create an all-round homely and caring experience for the residents.”
After ceremoniously cutting the anniversary cake to serve to guests, Samantha Squibb, the General Manager at Rownhams Manor, commented,
“Today’s celebration has reflected everything we strive to achieve at Rownhams Manor. Our team is dedicated to delivering outstanding care, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see the strong sense of community that has grown in our home over the past year.”
“We’d like to thank everyone who came to celebrate our first anniversary with us, and we hope to see you all again soon at another fantastic Rownhams Manor event!”
