Grand Opening Event – Tuesday, 25th February at 2:00 PM

The grand opening event will offer families, friends, and members of the local community the opportunity to explore Lake View Lodge and learn more about the outstanding care and facilities it provides.

The event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Fred Dinenage, renowned British author, broadcaster, and television presenter, who will officially open the home. Guests will also be invited to take guided tours of the state-of-the-art facilities, including en-suite rooms, comfortable lounges, landscaped gardens, and a range of modern amenities.

Visitors will have the chance to meet the highly skilled and compassionate team, learn more about the person-centred care provided at Lake View Lodge, and enjoy a food tasting experience showcasing the delicious and nutritious meals prepared by the in-house chefs.

The home has been purpose-built to offer exceptional residential, dementia, and respite care in a setting that prioritises both comfort and wellbeing. With sustainability at its core, Lake View Lodge features solar panels, a ground-source heating system, and a two-day energy battery store, reflecting Oyster Care Homes’ commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions.

A Time Capsule to Mark a New Chapter

As part of its commitment to community engagement, Lake View Lodge has partnered with Halling Primary School on a time capsule project that will preserve memories, reflections, and a snapshot of life in 2025.

Ahead of the home’s opening, the team visited the school to deliver the capsule, and pupils have since been working on filling it with carefully chosen mementos. Halling Historical has also contributed insights and artefacts, ensuring the time capsule reflects the unique heritage of the local area.

On Tuesday, 4th March at 9:00 AM, Lake View Lodge will welcome pupils from Halling Primary School for the official burial of the time capsule in the home’s gardens. The event symbolises the strong connection between Lake View Lodge and the local community, fostering meaningful intergenerational engagement between residents and young people.

Oyster Care Homes believes in creating a care environment that is deeply connected to the wider community, ensuring residents remain engaged and involved in local life. The time capsule project marks the beginning of an ongoing partnership with Halling Primary School, with future opportunities for collaboration and shared experiences.
