Heartfelt Moments at Furze Field Manor Care Home

20 January 2025 Furze Field Manor

At Furze Field Manor, we are always looking for ways to help our residents feel connected, supported, and valued – especially when their loved ones are far away. Recently, Maureen, one of our wonderful residents, has been missing her daughter who is currently in Jamaica.

To bring a little piece of Jamaica to Maureen, our team printed beautiful pictures of Jamaican beaches and explored the country’s rich history together. It was a lovely experience, sparking conversations about the stunning landscapes and vibrant culture. To show just how much she cares, Maureen also created a heartfelt card to welcome her “special daughter” home when she returns. This thoughtful gesture is a wonderful reminder of the love that knows no distance.

Another touching moment came when Janet, another cherished resident, received a visit from one of her oldest and dearest friends, affectionately known as ‘Giggles’. Janet often shares fond stories about their friendship with our team, and today, we had the pleasure of meeting the woman behind the nickname. With laughter filling the room, Janet shared, “She’s called Giggles because every time she laughs, she giggles!” It was truly heart-warming to see their bond and the joy their reunion brought to both of them.

At Furze Field Manor, we believe it’s the little things – whether it’s reminiscing about cherished places or reconnecting with old friends – that make life truly special. Our commitment to person-centred care means supporting our residents in ways that bring comfort, joy, and a sense of belonging.
