Copperfield Court has officially kicked off its six-week wellbeing programme in partnership with Kent Wildlife Trust’s Wilder Wellbeing team. After an inspiring taster session recently, residents eagerly began the first full session, with butterflies as the theme of the day.
They spent the morning learning fascinating facts about different butterfly species, their habitats, and the vital role they play in supporting the environment. The hands-on nature of the session brought lots of excitement, and after learning, the creative fun began. Residents painted and decorated their own butterfly designs, adding a colourful and personal touch to the day’s activities.
This programme, which runs over six weeks, is designed to engage our residents in sensory-rich, dementia-friendly activities that reconnect them with nature. Each week focuses on a different aspect of the natural world, bringing the outdoors to our residents through themed sessions that include learning, creativity, and sensory experiences.
We look forward to continuing this journey and documenting the positive impact it has on the wellbeing of our residents. Stay tuned for weekly updates as we explore new themes and share the joy and inspiration these sessions bring to our community.
