The Role:
As a Regional Head Chef, you will, in the absence of the Homes’ Chef’s, effectively manage the Kitchen and Kitchen Team. You will support the Care Homes’ aim of delivering high standards to Residents by providing nutritious, varied and well-balanced meals that are safely and hygienically prepared and served. Additionally, in the absence of the Homes’ Chef’s, you will be responsible for supervising the catering team, along with managing and controlling the catering budget and submitting food orders as required in a timely manner.
You will support with training and coaching of our existing teams, as well as induction of new team members and new home openings. Additionally, you will work on catering projects outside of the home in line with business needs.
An excellent leader is required to take the dining experience to the next level, with passion and flair for the everyday meals, along with the ability to work with the Home Managers and Activities Coordinators to support events for the Home.
We are looking for someone who has an upbeat personality, a happy disposition, self-motivation and the ability to encourage others to provide the best culinary experience possible.
Hours of work:
Our Chef’s hours of work are 08.00 – 18.00, and they are expected to work on a permanent rolling rota of three consecutive shifts on, followed by three consecutive shifts off. This equates to an average working week of 35 hours in total. As a Regional Head Chef, you will be required to support the Homes across the South of England and work these shifts accordingly as required. However, this role will average 40 hours per week taking into account the additional projects you will be working on.
This is a hybrid role supporting Oyster Care Homes across the network, and therefore the ability to reliably commute across the South of England is essential.
