At Somer Valley House, we were delighted to welcome Regional Director Carol, who joined us as Front of House for the day as part of our “Back to the Floor” initiative. This valuable programme, which invites General Managers and Regional Team Members to work a shift in a care home department of their choice once each quarter, is designed to give senior leaders a deeper connection to the everyday work of our team.
The “Back to the Floor” initiative aims to reconnect leaders with the core of care home life, allowing them to experience the rewarding yet often challenging realities of frontline roles. By stepping into these roles alongside team members, leaders like Carol gain insights that not only strengthen their understanding of operations but also highlight opportunities for growth and innovation. This approach fosters stronger relationships between management and care teams, paving the way for continuous improvement.
