
Somer Valley House, a purpose-built care home located in the heart of Midsomer Norton, has been nominated for a 2025 LABC (Local Authority Building Control) Building Excellence Award in the Best Non-Residential New Build category.
The LABC Building Excellence Awards celebrate outstanding projects that demonstrate high standards in construction, design innovation, sustainability, and partnership working.
Operated by Oyster Care Homes, Somer Valley House represents a significant investment in high-quality, person-centred care for older people in the Somerset area.
The building was constructed by LNT Care Developments, a leading UK developer of modern, sustainable care home environments.
Designed to promote comfort, independence, and well-being, Somer Valley House offers spacious en-suite bedrooms, elegant communal lounges, landscaped gardens, a cinema, and a beauty salon.
The nomination recognises the building’s outstanding architectural and technical achievement, as well as the collaborative approach taken throughout the design and construction process.
